AWLN 4th Intergenerational Dialogue – Zanzibar 2022

It was an honour beyond words to represent the AWLN Youth Pillar – Tanzania Chapter during the 4th Intergenerational Dialogue held in Zanzibar. I had the rare privilege of opening Day 2 with greetings in Swahili to an extraordinary assembly of Women Presidents, former Vice Presidents, Ministers, Diplomats, and youth leaders from across Africa—including the distinguished presence of the President of Ethiopia, H.E. Sahle-Work Zewde and her excelence H.E. President Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania.

Over three days, we engaged in powerful discussions on women’s political participation, economic empowerment, peace and security, mentorship, and strengthening intergenerational leadership. I was further humbled to deliver the closing remarks, reflecting on our key action points and next steps.

Special gratitude to H.E. President Samia Suluhu Hassan for hosting this historic gathering, and to icons like Dr. Thelma Awori and Madame Bineta Diop whose wisdom continues to light our way.

This dialogue reaffirmed a clear message: Africa’s future is bold, united, feminine—and intergenerational.
